Hi,

We have Veritas 9.1 on one server. We have a tape drive with 10 tapes, its an exabyte autoloader. I want to install a new computer, something with Windows XP Pro, and a 160GB HD, and have Veritas do a remote backup for me to this computer. This computer will be offsite and will be connected to our network via VPN. Its just going to be in one of our branch offices. What software do I need to do this. Ive talked to a few companies and Veritas, and they cant seem to help me much. Any help would be appreciated. Do we need to upgrade to 10d or??

You will need Backup Exec 9.1 with Core license plus the remote agent license.

I think you will see a big performace hit backing up thru a VPN connection.
