We have an s8710 and have deployed IP Softphone and Outlook Integrator to 7 users. 2 of us are using winxp and office 2003 and it works totally fine. 2 other users are using win2k and office 2003 and it works fine with them. 3 users have win2k and office 2003 and the outlook integrator is crashing outlook. there is a process in task manager called SERVICES.EXE that makes the pc run at 100% utilization and crashes outlook and disables the outlook integrator.

all service packs were done.. I built a brand new machine from scratch, logged onto it with my id and it works fine.. i logoff and logon with 1 of the non working users and it crashed on the same machine. we wiped out and created this users profile all over again and the same issue occurred.

the most recent user not only crashed outlook, but after un-installing the integrator.. outlook wouldn't come up at all and hung prompting me to un-install and re-install office altogether.

Has anyone had an issues like this. the culprit is this SERVICES.EXE that kicks in the minute outlook is launched with the integrator installed.

I had some PC's with that running maxed out and it ended up being W32.Sober.X@mm on those pc's. Try symantec's removal tool to see if that is what happned to them also.
