HELP ?XP Workstation cannot Join Domain

I have setup a Windows 2000 Advance Server(domain controller) and a XP PRO Workstation. I am using the server as a Router. My hub is linksys - 8port. I am able to access the internet on both boxes. Using the XP workstation, I try to join the domain i.e. bowers.com I get the following error: "DNS name does not exist." (error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR). The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.bowers.com

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance.
