I'm using the workbook_sheetchange event in Excel to capture the cells that were changed and write the changes to a word document. The problem I'm having is if someone changes a cell and then goes back and changes the same cell again, both actions are written to the log. I only want each cell reference to show up once in the log.

Thanks,

Erica

Why do you want to only show the final change ??
For auditing purposes you are better off showing ALL changes

Have a look at this thread for some ideas :

Yesterday it worked. Today it is not working. Windows is like that.

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

It's not for auditing purposes but for notification purposes. Once the user makes a change to a worksheet, an email is sent to a group stating what was changed and by who. The group would not need to know if someone had a spelling error and made a correction.

Thanks,

Erica

Hi,

Instead of writing changes to the log immediately, write the changes to an interim log. Then on the Workbook_Close event process the interim log to return the latest entry for each reference to write to the log.
