I have got a deals sheet in my workbook, this sheet contains all Foreign currency deals for all my clients. It contains column headings like Buy Ccy, Buy Amt, Sell Ccy, Sell Amt, Ref No.

The Buy Ccy column contains the Currency type bought eg. GBP, Buy Amt is the amount of this currency, this is a positive number.

The Sell Ccy column contains the Currency type sold eg, USD,
Sell Amt is the amount of this currency, this is a negative number.

I need some way of summing like Currency amounts from both the Buy Amt and Sell Amt columns which have the same reference number, note the reference number is a number entered by the user and so cannot be hard coded in.

I would appreciate a few suggestions, thanks

See the answer given for your other post, Dsum help. This is exactly the sort of problem the function was designed to answer. Your criteria will be "Reference No"=? where ? is the reference number you want to add together.
