How do you display subform data when switching from form view to datasheet view?

I have a form with 2 subforms. The 2 subforms are in "tab" controls. All 3 forms contain the same sql code as the data source.

The user would like to look at the form data in datasheet view.

When the datasheet view is selected, only the data from the the primary form and one of the subforms (the first tab control) is avaialable.

When the 2nd tab is active and the datasheet view is selected, the data corresponding to the 2nd tab is not displayed.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

Have you thought about using continuous forms instead of a datasheet? Then you could set the data being displayed very easily via a query, etc.

Having a subform with the same datasource as the main form doesn't seem likely to get you very useful results.

If you post a bit more about what you are trying to accomplish you'll get plenty more good suggestions about how to do it in a way that will be both doable for you and helpful to your users.

Thank you for your help.

Each form has a different table as the data source. I used the sql to join the tables together (though this is already established in the relationships view), thinking that the all of the data fields would be available.

I am now thinking that I should return to the original plan and base each form on its corresponding table, as this will ensure the data can be updated.

The 2nd form is a memo field. The idea is that the use can select tab 1 to see specific data fields and select tab 2 to see the corresponding comments regarding the data fields.

The Data in the primary form has a one to many relationship with the data in the tab 1 subform.

The data in the tab 1 subform has a one to one relationship with the data in the tab 2 subform.
