I have a straightforward Win2000 Pro systems, which is showing the above error.

None of the normal paths of repair seem available, safe mode, last good config., and repair options via set-up just don't seem to be interested in starting/running?

The PC has had no recent hardware/software changes of late, and runs Norton internet security 2004. Possibly worth commenting is that Defrag was one of the last things run on the PC before its final shutdown prior to this problem.

As I seem to be unable to get the PC to run (whatsoever), is there any way of trying to repair the damage with the HDD
slaved on another Win2000 PC?

Any assisatance much appreciated.

Hardware is easy, Software is not!
