help with no-form graphics

I'm new to VB, and I was wondering if it's possible to directly place a picture on the desktop, not on a form? If this isn't possible, please tell me.

I am prety sure that it can be done. I don't know how to do it myself, but I can tell you that you will need to get into the world of the Windows API. Thanks and Good Luck!
