Help with MDW Reconstruction / Db Repair

A colleague tried to create a copy of a db by creating a new db & mdw and exporting objects within the same folder without making a backup copy. Now the original no longer has a log prompt and the copy doesn't either. The db functions fine but you can't do anything requiring admins permission (it recognizes you as Admin user and the permissions have been revoked for Admin). On a separate PC I've recreated the mdw from a backup file and tried to use it with a copy of the damaged file--still no logon. The log on prompt appears when I open another db, and logging on with the correct name & pwd gets me in the other db as an Admins member.

We can import the tables with existing permissions--I'm about to tell her that doing this and rebuilding the other objects is going to be the only recourse for an editable db.

Any experience with this situation out there ?
