Trying to forward hunt group calls to an external number after 4 rings. I setup overflow and forwarded the that hunt group to the external number.

But it never over flows, it just goes to voicemail after 5 rings.

Can someone help me out?

so, you have the overflow group set to Sequential ring and a virtual member forwarding off to your external number?

Do you have Queuing on? Do you need VM?

The correct way is to put one user in the overflow group. That user is then forwarded to the offsite number. You should have a user and matching extension built.

You should be able to dial the extension number or the overflow group number or the primary hg number and have all three forward correctly.

Assuming that everythin is done correctly then it should go. What R and control unit is the site running?

Correct on all accounts. Queuing is on for the hunt group and no VM needed at this point. VM is not 'ON'.

Main hunt group Collective Call Waiting, overflow mode is Call.
overflow set to 10 seconds
No answer set to 15 seconds
Queuing is on, length is no limit.
overflow set to hunt group with user (with forwarded external number) set to ring sequential.

If I dial the extension in the overflow hunt group it forwards the number. But if I call main number, call hunt group (tech support) then it rings 5 times and eventually goes back to Auto-Attend. The call is never forwarded.

Nothing under Fallback Extension for that hunt group.

Its working now. Go figure.

Thanks all!

One more question, when collective ringing on the hunt group it just beeps twice while it attempts to reach a rep. When it over flows it does a normal ring, is there a way to make it the same ring?

IE is there a setting on the IP Office to do a normal ring? Hold Music on the hunt group is set to No Change.

I understand this reponse but my question is can I use a USER without an actual phone? A virtual extension?

Yes, it can be a virtual/phantom extn, so make a User and allow the system to create a H323 extension even though it will nevver physically be used :)

One more q if you please.

How do shorten the time before it overflows to the answering service? For example I want it to ring 3 times instead of 4, no answer time or overflow time?

Unless it's an old release it's the voicemail answer timer on the initial group :)

Voicemail Answer time is grayed out. Voicemail is on for that group though because users have an option to wait or leave a message for a rep.

Check, because that's the only thing that greys it out. The option could be from a menu in a queued startpoint or something like that :)

Nodoby is asking for the software version so i will.
What software version is the unit on?

There was a time that you needed a professional license for certain things.
This gave all kind of problems like this one.
