Help with a rookie on setup of VPN on BEFVP41

I am trying to setup a VPN between my work place and home. I have a BEFVP41 @ home that I want to connect to from work on my windows 2k machine. I have followed the instructions from the linksys website on the IPSEC setup, but when I go to a DOS prompt and try to do a ping it keeps saying "Negotiating IP Security" I viewed the log and nothing in there. Does any have any suggestions?

Make sure you have enabled the policy you created with their instructions first. Then with 2k, run secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy to enforce your policy right away. If you have a firewall or router between you and the Internet at your work, you will need to either put yourself in the DMZ (Easy way) or open the IPSec ports. I know you will need 500 for sure, and I think the second is 88...
