Hi,
My girlfriend's xp has suffered major problems and now, after trying everything i know, has got as far as the windows logo sky blue screen, but always comes up with an error:
Also, upon start-up, as loading, just after the motherboard splash screen, it says:
Missing or corrupt boot.ini file
loading from C:/Windows
I've tried the recovery console and performed CHKDSK and it did come up with errors but as i don't know much about CHKDSK, it didn't ask me to fix anything, just stated that there were errors. Then i tried bootcfg /rebuild but it said it could because i needed to run CHKDSK, which i obvioulsy did before hand, so I'm at a loss now..
It won't boot into safe mode either, just loads up to the main safe mode screen and that same lsass.exe error happens..
What could be the problem and what can i do? If anything, the most important thing to do is try to get to and save all her photos and files - after that a good format will be the order of the day, i just want to back-up her stuff first..
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Paul @ basepointdesignzltd..
