HELP! Suitcase won't intsall!

This isn't specifically a Quark question, but there does not seem to be a Suitcase forum. Sorry!

I've recently upgraded to OSX, and have successfully installed all of my programs, but not Suitcase.

I click on the installer and get the following message:

"The installation requires a System Folder on the destination drive. The installation has been cancelled."

What does this mean, and how can I fix it? Shouldn't my Hard Drive automatically have a System Folder?

What version of Suitcase are you trying to install?

Think you might need to upgrade....11.0.2 is the latest version...don't know if there's a free upgrade path, but I know that only 11.0.2 will run with Panther and QXP6.1 without any problems.

Yeah, but that doesn't really solve my problem - I'll still have to install the version I've got before adding the upgrade.

As far as I know, the "Upgrade" can be installed without having an existing version on your system. As long as your serial number is valid, you'll get the upgrade price. The only advantage in installing over an existing version is that you keep your preferences -- for example, any sets you may have created will be copied over to the new installation. As you haven't installed it yet, that won't be a problem.

I could be wrong about this, but my last suitcase upgrade was installed in a separate folder, and I seem to remember re-installing it later without a previous version being on my system.

blueark is correct....when you purchase the upgrade, it is 'fresh install' so problem solved!

Sorry, I don't know a great deal about hardware. But do you mean to tell me that my hard drive doesn't recognise the operating system?

When you say "current disk", what do you mean?

The install disk for suitcase (current disk). Not your hard drive.

Basically, the install CD (or .dmg if you downloaded it) is configured to be run on a lower spec of OSX. The 11.0.2 version is configured to run with Panther.
