help!! Strategy for Generalized Searching Functionality

I want to design the generalised searching functionality in FPW26 so that when user press search button he/she can enter his criteria in fields available on form and based on the criteria provided user is shown the search results.

i have tried many strategies but not able to develop a completely generalised searching functionality.
