I am desparate for help, any suggestions, even the most obvious, please let me know.

IP Office 500 4.0.7
VM PRo
Softphone ver 4.0.18 then upgraded to 4.0.20 per tech support (Catalyst Telecom)

Site 1 = IPO, all Digital sets
Site 2 = 1 IP Hardphone
Site 3 = 2 IP Hardphones, 3 softphones
VPN's setup from site 1 to 2 and from 1 to 3

Scenarios:
- Softphone calls IP Hardphone at either site 2 or 3 - connection, no audio
- Softphone calls Softphone - connection, no audio
- Softphone calls Digital set - connection, no transmit from
softphone
- Softphone calls external - connection, no transmit from
softphone
- IP Hardphone calls softphone - works fine
- IP Hardphone calls IP Hardphone - works fine

Try disabling "Allow direct Media path" in the Extension field for that Softphone user.

ACA - IP Office Implement
ACA - IP Telephony
ACS - IP Office Implement
CCNA - Working towards.

"Try disabling "Allow direct Media path" in the Extension field for that Softphone user."

I have already done that, thanks for the reply.

Sounds like a IP routing problem, i suggest you try to use WireShark sniffer softwar both on the softphone pc and all data traffic from/tp IP office, that could point you were to look.

Kovy, can you give an example of your IP subnets and routes for each site.

Have you disabled Direct Media Path for all IP devices and set the codec to the required, not automatic.

You might be able to use direct media path if you had a vpn from 2 to 3.

What VPN protocol are you using?

Direct media path is disabled for all IP users, all codecs are set for 64k ulaw.

subnets are as follows:
Site 1: 192.168.0.0
Site 2: 192.168.1.0
Site 3: 192.168.2.0

don't know what routes are setup in the routers at this time as that was programmed by another Co.

VPNS are IPsec on Netgear routers

Just to reiterate, IP hardphones work at both remote sites.

are all netgear routers upgraded to latest firmware?

I have had problems with certain revisions of Netgear FW.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Softphones outbound voice traffic seems to be blocked by local machine. Have you tried firewall settings?
Can you ping the IPO from the softphone pc?
Do you have ip routes set up in IPO and if so what are they?
