I ran the RAV online virus scan and it picked up the following:

c://386/shadow.exe infected
C://windows/system32/shadow.exe infected

I use AVG, but it won't update. I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, but still no luck with the updates.

Can anyone help?

click here for symantec's manual removal of it. after successful cleaning, install anti-spyware softwares (ad aware se, spybot seek & destroy, spyware blaster, etc.), personal firewall and a good anti-virus (avg imho is enuff) for future protection.

hope this helps. peace! [peace]
