Help please with my DNS Urgent

I have a windows 2000 server network running AD. I have a range of IP addresses which I use in side my LAN I have a small range of other IP addresses which are used outside the LAN. Now every thing works ok I can access web sites and I can send mail. But I cant recieve mail and no one can see my website. Now this must be a DNS issue but im stuck first I made

in my DNS giving the IP address of the server running IIS but obviously no one can see that because it an internall IP number so I changed the DNS entry to one of the external ip address but obviously there isnt a server running IIS with that IP address so what do i do to get things running???????

any help would be greatfully received

you need to have your ISP create MX, NS and host records for your domain.
