I'm not sure I understand quite what you're problem is, but here are some tips.

You're probably opening the form in add-mode

If you're opening this form simply by dbl-clicking the form icon, i suggest you look at the data properties of the form, and change the Allow Edits, Allow Deletions and Allow Addition properties to yes.

You might wan't to have a look in the forms on open or on load event, to check out whether there are any DoCmd.GoToTecord acNewRec ' Remove that line, or modify according to needs

If you're opening the form through the Swithcboard Manager, check what mode you're opening the form in (it might be add-mode)

I am opening it in the switchboard, but i am not sure how to change it from add mode?

This might not be accurat concerning the actual menu-names, cause I currently use a non-english version, but...

On the Tools-menu, select "Database tools?" and "Switchboard Manager".

Browse through the different items til you find your form, select Edit, and you should be able to find the text "Open 'your form' in add-mode", change it to "edit-mode"

Hope this is helpfull;-)

Try to open your form in Design view; Click in the blue top of the form using the right mouse button then Click Data Sheet view; Do you see your Records ?

Mail me at

nkabirwa@netscape.net

If So then your ; you are opening the form with an acNew instruction .on Load event.
Try also to check on the total no. of record displayed at the bottom of the screen when you open the form
Nkabirwa Sowed Magezi
nkabirwa@netscape.net

A Ugandan Developer for
