HELP! Need to delete several distribution lists!

Urgent! I just took over for a terminated Admin. His distribution lists are a mess and I can't delete them!! Searched everywhere for help and can't resolve. The last guy told everyone several lists did not work so he created new ones that did but he never removed the old! I get an error message when I try to delete. Wondering if the new and old are tied together some way. Maybe have the same address? Cannot even open the lists!! Company wants them cleaned up ASAP. Any suggestions appreciated.

Can you get INTO the lists? If so, delete all email accounts in the lists. Afterwards, try to delete the lists. If unsuccessfull, then see if it is linked to a NT user accunts of some sort. Also, you can try to RENAME those lists, and THEN delete them.

How are you trying to delete them, who are you logged in as at the time and on which machine?
