hi
I have an win2000 server with exchange 5.5 server with 100 mailboxes, but this server is giving me some problems.
I have another server that im about to fresh install.
I want to replace the exchange 5.5 and server, with a new server with exchange 2000 already instaled, what are the correct procedures, do i create the new win2000 server with the same name and IP, export the maiboxes to pst and then import to the exchange 2000??? is there any util that i can use to get exchange 5.5 configuration and import in the exchange 2000??? All the domain controllers are win2000.

thanks

Vitor

You can check out the previous posts on thread 10-466339, the FAQs posted in this Forum, and also Microsoft Knowledge Base article KB 155216 (reviewed by Microsoft 1/31/2003). I used the KB article to successfully move Exchange 5.5 from an old NT machine to a new dual processor Win 2000 server with the same name as the old server (so the shift was transparent to users). I've listed some (hopefully) helpful additional points in my post in thread 10-466339, and there are several other who post on the site who've done this many times, so you can get plenty of info.

vitor1: Sorry, I misread your post. I provided info on moving Exchange 5.5 from an old machine to a new machine running Win 2000 server. I did not provide information about migrating from Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000. Please see the FAQ marcs41 helpfully provided for URLs with information on your question. My apologies.
