Indeed, the choice is yours.
The decision of course depends on what you're going to do as a programmer, and what amount of time you'd expect to spend at the computer developing and debugging (fixing errors) in your programs.
Are you working for yourself, or someone else?
Regardless of the answer to this question, you still like to watch movies, swim in the ocean, go to parties, have a decent marriage. The point I'm making making is that no one spends 24 hours a day at their computers, not even computer programmers, and it is extremely difficult to have a worthwhile life without money, and time to take care of other things that make life worth living.
