Hi Folks,
I am trying to install an app on a WinXP machine. The app was written to be installed on w9x and w2k.
If I install on 9x it installs ok. If I install on NT based machines it comes up with the error:
The file 'C:\documen~1\Admini~1\Locals~1\temp\msftqws.pdw\$(TLBSelfRegister)' could not be registerred because it was not found.
Now I KNOW the file exists because I can browse for it.
What is happening is the path in the file it incorrect. Instead of ...\Local ~1\..., the programmer or the program incorrectly use ...\Locals~1\... which does not exist.
My question is - Is there a way around this issue, ie telling the app to use c:\temp as the tmpdir or correcting the path statement?
I can attach the setup.lst or any of the install files if required.
Your assistance would be greatly appreciated as the organisation we bought the app through years ago has gone bust and Lexign want 20K to upgrade before they will support us.
Cheers,
Pete
