Hi guys,

New to the forum and I am seeking some assistance/advice on how to identify Cisco parts,

So far I have identified a few such as BPX-ASM and BNI 3T3/C
but I am having trouble locating the correct part number or model number on the other parts that I have.

My boss wants me to look them up and see if they would be worth anything to anyone.

The problem I have is that several parts appear to be blades for different cisco devices. However, they have several bar-codes with different codes/numbers on them. Does cisco have a standard in their part numbers. The majority of the parts begin with 800-xxx-xxxx type consistent numbering but I am unable to locate anything through google or cisco.com regarding these numbers.

Any advice would be certainly appreciated.

check with your VAR. they should be able to give you a trade in value on the parts.

I would do this but the only problem is, I don't have any idea who the VAR is. The parts have dates anywhere from 95 - 2000. My boss is just interested in seeing what he could possibly get for them. I even called cisco customer service and they said that they do not have a standarized part numbering system. I am at a loss as to how to look this stuff up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just list the desc right on the front of the blade.

What do you have? I am interested in as5300 ,7200 router, and 6500 blades/modules at the moment.

For switch blades... The PN probably starts with "WS".

If you're committed to disposing of them, photograph them and put them onto eBay, one auction per item - that way you'll get whatever the market thinks they're worth and not have to worry about whether or not you're getting a good deal...

3t3? not sts? stm? are there from a fiber mux?
