Hi,

I want the ability to extend the Premiere 6.5 or Pro timeline past the 3hr mark. I am editing a program that is 4 hrs long to be dumped to DVD via firewire.

Thanks!

I believe the time limit in 6.5 is 3 hours, but Pro's limit is 24 hours. I don't have Pro so I can't confirm this.

Do you have a way to splice your video to, say, 2 hours segments? You'll never get 4 hrs on a single DVD anyway, so you must intend to trim it down.

If you have Premiere Pro, the max project length is 24 hours.

It was possoble to extend the timeline to 4 hours in Premiere 4, but 5 and 6 are limited to 3 hours.

Thanks for the replies! I have 6.5 and Pro and will make my final version in pro for the 4 hr mark.

As for fitting on DVD I'm a newbie to DVD burning but saw that burning on the computer is cumbersome with all the different formats and time requirements.

I cheat! I come out of my computer via firewire direct to my DVDR deck with IEEE input. With it I can extend the time to 4 hrs and record in realtime by playing the movie straight from the timeline.

Yeah I'm simply hitting the record button but It works. I dont get the nice menus screens but do get to make the titles.

Word of advise: Stay away from the DVDR-985 from Phillips!

If anyone knows any drawbacks of my method please let me know.
