Can anyone please give me a word of advice here please? I need some guidance on setting up a VPN IPSEC. I am hours away from spending big bucks on PIX 501's and upgrading our 1720 Routers. We have two branches with 50 users and 3 branches with less than 10 users. First question, I saw a posting that said that you don't need a router if your are using only one IP? I can agree with that, so will it be far better to nix the 1720's in our smaller offices and just use them in the two larger branches. Larger branches will possibly use several IP's as time goes on? Also does anyone have any experience with win2000 networks functioning fully behind these firewalls and from Lan to Lan? Thanks!! :D

You are somewhat losing me, saying you only have one IP? By that do you mean static? To get on the Internet, each site will have to have a public IP, static or dynamic to get out.

We are somewhat similar. We have a mixture of 2600's, 1700's and 1600's connected over Frame. As a backup WAN, I have RV082's with IPSec VPN to a PIX 515 here at HQ.

If you could clarify what you are looking to do, please?

Thanks,

Matt Wray

We have public ip's (Internet through ATM), not DSL, but Norvergence. Anyway, I have purchase the equipment, and am going at it right now. Will have more questions as time goes on. I am using Cisco 831 Routers in our small branches and Pix 501's in our two large branches. We need to establish the network via this method. More later, and thanks, I would like to hear any more you have to say about the VPN performance with Windows 2000 servers etc?
