I have an Orders form that allows me to enter new customers and in a sub form enter their order details. The problem with this is I have to re-enter information if they are a repeat customer (first name, last name, billing address, etc). I decided what I needed was a command button that would open a new form listing all my customers. After selecting the customer I want to click on a command button that will open up my Orders form populating the fields for the customer that was selected. I don't know how to do this last part. Can anyone help?

Thanks a lot

Does the customer selection take place on a continous form? If you used a continuous form for your customer list, you could place a button on it that would autopopulate part the orders form. Add the command button to open the orders form and set the default value properties of all of the controls that you want to autopopulate equal to the controls on the form where you clicked the button.

Thanks, I'll give that a try!!

Hi src2 ,
I would suggest that you make the subform i such a manner that one customer can have multiple orders (1-n relationship), so you don't have to enter the customer info over and over again. Take a look at the Northwind sample database and how they solve this issue; you can open Northwind from the help-menu in access.
