Hello,

Can someone advise me on choosing a SQL 2000 version?

I am the network person who is working with other staff on determining what we need to run a database that will have a max of 400 users (more likely there will be about 150 on at a time).

Will the Standard edition work well for a datase of this size?

Thanks!

Jenn

We have over 2000 total users, 6 production servers with concurrent usage of up to 200 users at a time and some applications such as a time-keeping system that nearly every user accesses daily. All of our SQL servers are running the Standard edition of SQL Server 7 or 2000. We have excellent performance and stability.

We have not yet even considered the Enterprise Edition. I would suggest reviewing the capabilities of each Edition to help determine which best fits your needs. Number of users is only one factor to consider.

Check this link for comparisons.
