Hello, I've been asked to look into CRM packages for my company and the Microsoft CRM is a definate option. Our needs are fairly basic and only around five or six users will be using it. We have a fairly standard Microsoft network with a couple of DCs, an exchange server and an SQL 2005 STD server (running a couple of apps.
One of the users is using outlook BCM and we need something similar for another five users so that they can all share the same dataset. The users are all laptop users who roam but have outlook over HTTP, MS VPN and a TS connection.
I can read all the Microsoft propaganda on the net but the best info comes from guys like you who have installed it and are supporting it on a daily basis.
So how good is MS CRM from an admin's point of view? Is it easy to install, backup, upgrade? Is it reliable? do you have any problems with roaming users?
Would I need to install this on it's own SQL server or would the one already in use on the network be ok (the hardware is good)?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
