Trying to open Outlook 2000 and coming up with "Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use." and then once you click OK, a second window comes up: "Errors have been detected in the file ...outlook.pst. Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool".

I tried to run the Inbox Repair Tool (scnpst), but it erros on phase 4 of 8, it says "An error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped. No changes have been made to the scan file."

I checked the log and it has a bunch of signature errors like these:

The PST file I'm working with is pretty much at its max of 2GB (currently at 1.98GB). Tried to compress the file and then open it, but still the same.

Then I tried to create a new PST file and import from the "bad" PST file, but I get the same error:

"Errors have been detected in the file ...outlook.pst. Quit all mail-enabled applications, and then use the Inbox Repair Tool".

Any imput would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you tried using the 2GB tool to reduce the size of the PST and then run the inbox repair on it. There will be some data loss but you may be able to salvage everything else.
