Help - Big problem

My company has SCO 7. SCSI disk 2 not working, changed it, systems boots to single user mode and systems does not see /var /usr.

How do I restore from tape when in single user mode.

No floopy drive on system

Please advise

Just found out another erorr on start-up

init can not access /var/adm/utmpx.

Please advice

I had a problem not complete unsimilar that was fixed with the fsck command. Go

what does /etc/default/filesys look like?
were /var and /usr filesystems that were on the other disk?
how were your tape backups made?
