We have an MS Access database on our Citrix server that will need to be backed up twice daily. It's a 300 Meg .mdb file that will be backed up. Only a few users are accessing this .mdb throughout the day. Any ideas on the best solution for this backup strategy?? Should I use some kind of scheduled task, or AT command?? I need to ensure the users are not accessing the .mdb during backup. Any ideas are truly appreciated.

Thanks,

hi,
Citrix Servers have to be rebooted (for my opinion and exprience daily ).
Schedule server reboot at 4:00 ie. Use CMC or a scheduled
task calling shutdown.exe utility (w2kreskit)

Doing this, you have a secure windows of opportunity to
backup your x.mdb file:
make a Scheduled Task (executes a your accessbck.cmd file ) and run it "When my computer start".

In it do the x.mdb file copy and remove x.ldb file

Make another scheduled task, start it at 13:00, and make a loop inside it: if exists x.ldb --> sleep x ; goto begin
if not --> copy x.mdb ; exit from loop.
(for sleep find timeout.exe utility in reskit)

bye
