Hello everybody,
We have a thick client Java Application that requires a reporting module added to it. I have been researching various reporting tools like Crystal Reports, JReport etc. and still not sure what to decide.
Has anybody worked on integrating Crystal Reports / Crystal Enterprise with Java ? If so, do you suggest going for it or do you suggest any other reporting tools?
Here are our basic requirements:
1. We want configurability by an end user to create their own report templates.
2. We don't want to use stored procedures and would like to have Complex reporting logic written via in-line SQL.
3. Automating Scheduling of reports.
4. Tight integration to the software but segmented enough to allow the first requirement.
5. Abstracting the database platform from reporting.
6. Load balancing of reports.
Does anybody have any idea on this? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
