Hello again,

I am trying to to send and receive DTMF from modem and phone (or embeded modem)using HyperTerminal on the PC. I can send DTMF of 0-9, #, *, A, B, C and D from HyperTerminal(internal modem) to a remote device. But, I don't know how to set-up the HyperTerminal to receive DTMF from other device (such as phone or other DTMF modem). Is there any command that I have to use to enable the modem (HyperTerminal) to receive DTMF characters?

Please help, anyone.

Tom

To receive the DTMF tones, you need to have a voice capable modem. If you put the modem into voice mode and then answer the call, it should automatically detect DTMF tones. They will arrive as a <DLE>#. The data link escape is probably not able to be displayed by Hyperterminal, so you will probably get something like a block and then the digit.

If you are going to write your own code to do this, I'd recommend that you download Turbo Power's Async Pro from
