We recently purchased Avaya/Lucent 6416D+M Display Telephones for our office. We are having problems making a headset work with this unit. Has anyone purchased headset for this type of phone? And what brand did you purchase?
Thanks

We use Plantronics headsets. We have to program a headset button on the phone so that the handset does not have to be lifted. With that model phone, you don't need the additional amp box.

There have been a few threads already on this subject.

1. Program a HEADSET button on the station.
2. If the headset is plugged directly into the headset jack, make sure that you are using a headset connector cable (HIC if ordering from Avaya), and not one for amplifiers.

Good luck.

What exactly is the HIC and is there somewhere else to get the HIC from?

You can order these from Plantronics; PN 27190-01. Or you can purchase direct from Avaya at
