Using InDesign2.0. Use word docs which use screeds of automated heading numbers with linked levels ie., 1.1 Heading 1, 1.1.1 Heading 2 etc. When I import into InDesign, the numbering is erratic - some stay as they were, others are reset to 1. I cant find anything in para rules etc etc which refers to numbering. Surely such a basic, everyday word processing necessity like this can be edited / automated within InDesign. Help would be hugely appreciated as its driving me bonkers.

I would say considering you can't bring in Auto-things (like numbers, bullets etc) into Quark then it would be a similar type of thing for Indesign.

Also make sure you have the word file saved as Word 2000.
