I don't how I'd search for this so, sorry if it's redundant.

I need to make a document that has section titles left (but on the same line) of the associated body text. Ignore the dots in this example:

Synopsis:..Text starts here.
..Issues:..Text starts here.

Notice headers are right alligned and body left aligned. I want to avoid using tables so any other tips? I'd like to assign a style to it.

Seems I used to know how to do this in an older version but that was years ago and I'm getting forgetful.

Your terms are misleading. You call them "headers", but headers are in the headers, at the top of each page.

They can not be headings either - at least not in the sense Word "thinks" of headings. If you made of Style of this, and used it to generate a Table of Contents, both "Synopsis" AND "Text starts here" would be included in the Table of Contents.

Why do you want to avoid tables? Tables are probably the better way to do this.

That being said, you can do this by making a style with both a left and right tab stop.

Thanks for the help and sorry for the confusion. I was refering to the head(er/ing) styles, not the page header, but I see how that was not clear.

I don't want to use tables because I tend to modify the formatting several times before it's finished. Maybe it's a failing, but I don't know how to move column widths in several separate tables over several pages and I don't care for the idea of using 1 table for the entire doc (and I have done it a few times).

I understand the issues of a TOC, but I haven't used one in years and if I were to do so now, I would most likely put in normal heading styles.

Funny, I also thought of your solution and tried it before my message on W3K at work and I could not seem to get it. I
tried it now on my W2K at home it was as simple as I originally expected. Oh well, I'll try it again next week at work.

Thanks for your help.
