HDD Failure

I am looking for a link for any type of free software that will allow me to recover files from a faulty Hard Drive. Whe I try to access the files from Vista the machine hangs for some time, I ahev also tried to have Vista repair the drive with no luck. That runs overnight without success. This drive is only a storgae drive (no system files).

Any help would be appreciated....

I would recommend 'Get Data Back', excellent program. It's not free, but it doesn't cost much.

The drive manufacturer should have free diagnostic software, to thoroughly check the condition of the hard drive, available on their web site.
