I'm having a problem booting my system. Suddenly My HD isn't detected during the boot process from my BIOS. Is ee's all other IDE devices I have installed such as CDRW ,CD This is something that has happened suddenly, I haven't added any new software or hardware to my system. I've tried changing cabling for the HD that doesn't help. I tried installing my HD in another system and it boots up with know problem. Is it possible that my BIOS is corrupted somehow?

I have just experienced the same problem. On boot-up my system has a fit, crackling sounds from the hard-drive and the keyboard, CDRW lights flicker out of control. This is the first experience of this type for me so I'm at a loss to know what to do. Is it the HD or maybe the Bios? Any advise appreciated.

Dahda I fixed it. I talked to someone who had a similar problem and suggested that I remove my CMOS battery and reinstall it. I did it and rebooted my system and it fired up like normal. This clears the settings when you do this. Of you will have to go into your BIOS later to set your date and time and maybe set your HD detection to "Auto" to clear any checksum error you might receive.
