Hello all,

I've been lucky enough not to have too many problems with XP pro for some time, except for now.

Today I booted up my computer and noticed that the original Windows XP theme that is used on my taskbar and all of the color schemes are not loading up. It somehow loaded up the "classic" theme view. I have tried loading up the Windows XP theme, but it doesn't seem to want to show up. Anybody have any ideas on how this can be solved? I tried to access the "Appearance" tab as well on the Desktop properties menu and it does even load up with any preview...just shows a black screen.

Hope somebody can help...thanks!

Maybe somebody deleted them. Is this a home or business computer? If its a business computer on a network, maybe your network admin blocked access to how your desktop is set up.

I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about, but if your saying that the old style start menu is back, right click the Start button and go to Properties. You'll see "Start Menu" or "Classic Start Menu". If your talking about wallpaper not being accessible, look in your C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper folder to see if they are still there.

Did you try going back in time using System Restore?

Hello guys,

Thanks for trying to help, but I think it's connected to this other problem that i'm just about ready to post about.
