Having Problems Exporting to my Sony Digital 8 Camcorder..

I have a small 5 minute clip.... I want to export it back to my Sony Camera through the fire wire cable... I use file/ export/ to tape... It starts playing on my camera and recording and after about 30 seconds the screen goes blue.. So I only get bits of the footage on tape? I am running a 1.4 AMD Athalon, 512MB RAM, 40 gig HD, Sony TRV-230 Digital 8. I have my prefrences set to play back though the camera... HELP!
