Hi friends,
I hope someone would know the answer to this. I have roaming user profiles set up on a member server (W2K) for all employees and it has worked fine so far. However, I have recently been trying to delete the older roaming profile folders for people who have left the company and it will not let me do it. I have already taken ownership (as administrator) of the folders but there is still no response when i try to delete the folder.

Inheritance rights propagate and I even tried un-sharing the entire roaming profile folder before trying to delete them, but still no luck. Once in a while, it throw errors such as

"Error Deleting File or Folder: Cannot Delete DETAIL~1.HTM: Cannot find the specified file. Make sure you have the correct path or filename.".

I've run out of ideas. Am I missing something obvious?

All suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

it may be specific files that are stopping you. try deleting from a command prompt or get your hands on File Manager from NT. both of those methods will allow you to continue deleting despite running into single file errors. if this is the case, you may also want to run a checkdisk as a precaution...
