I have a s8500 4.01. I have a g650 in node 2 connected via fiber. it has a clan and a xfire with firmware version 33. all call center phones in node 2 are being recorded by witness.

My issue is with the callmaster VI sets. when the callmaster's recieve a phone call and transfer the caller to a 64xx telephone, audio disappears between the caller and 64xx user. i know the call is connected because the phone shows the caller ID of the caller. any ideas?

more information. btw correction. it is not in node 2 it is happening on port network 2.

anyway, I found out that the no audio scenario only happens when witness contact store is recording and the call is a warm transfer. if you transfer blind, you can hear. when I took out witness out of the equation, it worked just fine.

Does the same thing happen if you are service observing a call?

this is stumping me. Susan, I have not tested your suggestion yet but here the work around that we did to make it work.

The talk audio disappears when you transfer a caller from a phone that is in contact store to another phone that is not in contact store, within port network 2 (if you transfer to port network 1 it works just fine). we added the phone (we are transferring to) to witness and it works. Anybody has a logical thought on this. please remember it is only happeining if the call is being transferred from port network 2

update: after prolonged testing and mst traces, AVAYA suggested that I upgrade to the new 4.03 comming out beginning of May. I was told that the patch includes correction about witness not being able to share time slots. i'll see what happens.
