HATB Using Smart List Builder

Can a smart list be created that will allow the user to get “period ending” balances (like a trial balance from GP)?
This would be a super time saver for everyone if they had the ability to run a Smart List trial balance, filtering on any of the 5 account segments and getting a period ending balance for whatever date they selected.
