Has anyone here used or 'is' using barcoding to control a countertop manufacturing facility?? I'de like to exchange ideas and knowledge... we are looking into creating this process for our plant. Thanks

package, or looking to purchase new hardware/software ?
What areas do you wish to control with barcoding?
(ie: shop floor reporting by operation, serialized
shipment container tracking for advanced ship notices...)

I would just like to get more info to kick around.

Well we are a component manufacturing company, and I guess we are looking to track every single component that's in production (in the plant). Basically our process is: we go out to measure a kitchen, create a template, bring back to the engineering depot. to be engineered (cad/cam) then the work order is realeased to CS and then into production. Production means Cut,Assembly, Layout, Cnc, Q/C and intall in short words.

Hello,

I am implementing a bar coding solution for counter top company. We are still in the design stages, but it is going to be a very nice solution for them and save them a lot of time and money on tracking down orders in progress. We are going to barcode raw materials as they enter the plant and scan them at appropriate times throughout the manufacturing process, up to, and including, delivery.

Do you use AutoCAD to design anything? BarcodeONE.com has an AutoCAD barcode to incorporate barcodes into the drawing.

Thanks, but the customer does not use a drawing program. The system I'm working on is an Order Entry / Invoicing / PO generation system. Most of their countertops are standard tricove
