I was browsing around on my local computer shops webpage and came across the ECS L7VMM3 motherboard. It has an on-board "supposidly" Athlon 2800Pro processor, AGP slot, USB 2.0, sound, on-board video etc. It has a Via KM266/VT8235 Chipset and I know that this board isn't made for gaming, but I was just wondering if anyone has used it or know of the actual speed of the processor? Any opinions on it? I may just give it a shot as an Internet machine/lite gaming.... but I can't get the website working and the compy shop isn't sure on the speed of the processor but he says it is an Athlon all though it is being advertised as 2800Pro...if anyone can help me decipher this package that would be great...thanks!

It's very naughty and definately could be classed as misleading to say the least.
From what I can gather there are several variants running under the same L7VMM3 banner, they advertise the CPU as:
2300pro/2500pro/2600pro and 2800pro, from the numerous links I can deduce that they are fitted with the newer 266fsb Duron 1400 which follows XP naming by being called a Duron 1600+.
The way they are advertising the board is interesting, as with the XP range the naming system was supposed to be whichever you chose, say XP2.4+, it was supposed to be the same performance as a P4 2.4 Intel, as these are Duron chipped they are compared to a Celeron so budget chip compared to budget chip.
Even more interesting is that they apparently post as an Athlon, probably because they are 266fsb and likely a cut down Athlon core.
Anyways, you aren't getting an XP2800+ just a Duron 1600+ (1400mhz)
As for lite gaming well it better be that because the onboard Savage pro graphics are basic, probably around Nvidia TNT standards.
KM266 chipset is also over 2 years old.
