I have a problem with the date formatting control box of MS Access 97

The control box is fine as regards setting all other properties except date

When I place the cursor in the date selector grid it's fine but once I touch the Arrow button to select
 Long date
 Short date
 Medium date
 General date

All that happens is General date and short appears at the same time as an error message comes up saying Windows will be shut down
Is setting the input mask as the date box a solution.
My system is windows 98 and I have all the patches loaded SR1 Sr2 SR2a
I have also got all the right settings in the regional settings

Sounds like the DB is corrupt. Try compacting and repairing. If it still continues you might try re-creating the report from scratch. If that fails, you might try creating a new db and importing everything then re-building the report.

Hi Jerry

Thanks I actually copied the DB to floppy and tried it on win 95 and it was ok , it happens on every Db on my win 98 computer, I have also had some corruption in downloading files .
last time I had a problem with Access I changed the Startup file to [old] and renewed the program
It's a bit puzzling

Sounds like you need to re-install Access(or possibly Win98). Somethings not kosher.

There is also a possibility that the MDAC is causing it.
MDAC is basically a bundle of information that access uses in regard to data. Its available at the microsoft website for free. Discrepencies in MDAC can cause errors if one machine is not compliant while the other is compliant.
