Has any one loaded an OS to a Jump Drive. If so how ?

Do a google search on "boot from usb" (include quotes).
There's a couple of articles there to get you started.

As far as loading a complete OS, can't find any info yet, but I'm interested in this also.

Generally an OS needs to boot from a randomly read/writable storage medium - USB flash drives (assuming that's what you mean by "jump drive") are NOT randomly read/writable (entire blocks need to be erased/rewritten at once)... Perhaps DOS could be made to work as it doesn't necessarily require scratch space. And it is still uncommon to find a mobo in the wild that can boot from USB.

. I have seen a complicated method to get Win9x to boot and run from a CD but it still requires known, preconfigured locations to exist on the local hard drive for scratch files, etc.

You might be interested in BartPE.
It creates a limited OS from Windows XP and uses a RAM drive for the temp stuff.

Hi, going off at a bit of a tangent, knoppix is a very good operating system that boots directly off CD, very good in an emergency and completely free!
