I am beginning to develop a plan to move a network from Windows NT4 to 2000. The existing network is not being utilized as it should. So, I want to do thing right this time. I will be using a PDC and a SDC. Now there is only a PDC that is poorly configured. I will have 2-3 application servers, and 3-4 Citrix Metaframe servers. I would also like to have an ISA server and Exchange server. This is going to be a big project. I am hoping to upgrade some existing hardware to save cost, but I will need to purchase some new equipment. There will be at least 5 remote sites using applications from the primary domain. There will be about 60 concurrent users for one application server, 15 for another and 25 for the third. I am still learning hardware requirements so if there is anybody out there that has ideas or suggestions, I would be greatly appreciative. I am thinking that the PDC and SDC should have dual P4's and 1GB of RAM at least. Is this to much or not enough? I am running mostly Compaq servers now and have been happy with them. Are there any suggestions on the hardware for the Citrix servers? Actually, I already have two Citrix servers, the 15 and 25 user servers, but I need to configure for the 60 users of the application server. Citrix will handle the connections to the app server. I know this is a lot, but I am a one man band and could use the help.
