Hardware Errors on Backup

I get intermittent errors running backups using Brightstor 9.1. Here are the error messages in order of appearance:

1) E6084 Drive hardware error - servo or sensor ABSL:2040 Cmd:ah

2) E3719 - Unable to write to Media. EC=Controller Failure

3) E6300 - Windows NT SCSI Port Error ABSL:2040

4) E8025 - Unable to Clean tape drive:4 EC=Hardware Error Device:3

We have a Compaq DLT 891. Is the SCSI Contoller going bad in my Server or in the DLT Machine?

About 6 months ago, one of the tape drives in my DLT went bad, so we're down to one drive.

Well it could be a hardware problem - have you run the manufacturer test tools against the library? This is a pretty old model.
