Hi,
I have a quantum lm 30gig Hard drive in my computer at home(slave) and got a 4.3gig fujitsu as my master. Since I bought my quantum HD I have problems with it... first when I let my bios autodetect it, my system takes ages to boot.
when I set it manualy only leaving logical block on, it's ok but I get a pack of trouble... when I try to install windows for example scandisk prompts me to tell that my HD is not setted correctly and if it may fix errors that are not really errors... I'd really like my HD to work better...
I really don't know what to do And I'm not really familiar with the hardware. I know there's something about my mother board to be ATA 33 and my quantum HD to be ATA 66 but I don't know if this is the problem

any Ideas???

any help is appreciated

could you tell us a little more about your system.cpu motherboard, etc.have you tried a bois update for your motherboard.

Ok.. I used an update for my Bios
my mother board is a se440bx from Intel
and my processor is a 300mmx.

is that enough?

Hi Rick,
You should have received a utility with your Quantum drive that will set your BIOS and deals with the ATA66 issue. I have run into this same issue on the big drives from quantum numerous times, and the utility has always taken care of it. As previously noted you may wish to check for BIOS updates as well. Check WinDrivers.com they should have it if one exists.
hope this helps
